In continuation of His Excellency Sir Matthew Nathan's Secret Despatch of the late November last dealing with the project to connect Canton with Whampoa by a railway, I have the honour to enclose for Your Lordship's information translations of extracts from the Wai San Yat Po Newspaper of the 5th November and the Sheung Po Newspaper of the 8th November, copies of which were forwarded to His Majesty's Minister at Peking on the 13th and 16th November respectively.
